Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center

The LBJ Wildflower Center's mission is to increase the sustainable use and conservation of native wildflowers, plants and landscapes. The Center has one of the first research projects investigating the viability of green roofs in Texas, and has consulted on green roof projects such as the Starbucks at Circle C Ranch. The Center is also heavily involved in the Sustainable Sites Initiative the USGBC.

A green roof industry association that holds conferences and provides professional accreditation to green roof installers.

U.S. Green Building Council

USGBC is the non-profit that maintains the LEED building program; a set of environmentally friendly building codes that awards points for different responsible building practices. Green roofs can earn building owners up to 11 points alone, and can assist with up to 36 points!
